Protecting wildlife across Greenwich

Greenwich Wildlife Network, formed in 2018, is the only wildlife rescue service that operates across Royal Greenwich and South East London.

The small team of volunteers joined forces through their like-minded passion for animal welfare and helping sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

The charity was granted charity status in 2022.

Rae started the charity almost by accident and the need and support has grown year-on-year.

The most memorable rescue to date was a swan that crash landed behind a fence into brambles and the team had to dig a hole by hand to rescue it.

However, the team are seeing a disturbing increase in animal abuse including the use of catapults in broad daylight, with witnesses, photographic evidence and yet very little is being done.
