More Information (Maritime Radio is not responsible for external websites)
Join us upstairs at Severndroog Castle in the Lady James Room for an intimate acoustic performace from Maria Mihailik. Maria's hauntingly beautiful vocals blend with the warm acoustic in the Lady James Room, where she will perform a selection of her own compositions plus interpretations of folk classics.
Born in Ukraine and currently living in South East London, Maria Mihailik is a talented young singer-songwriter. Inspired by an eclectic mix of songwriters like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Fiona Apple and Amy Winehouse, she blends folk styles and contemporary themes in a confessional, intimate way. Maria has recently released her debut EP - a collection of her early work written between the ages of 16 and 18.
We asked Maria about the inspiration for her set: "I've been a regular visitor and even part time worker at the Castle for several years and feel connected to the atmosphere and historical significance of Severndroog, along with the surrounding area. I’m excited to bring my repertoire into the space and hopefully create an experience that blends the exceptional acoustics, unique ambience and storytelling in the music."
