Maintaining Cutty Sark is no mean feat. Luckily, we have our dedicated shipkeeping team who are committed to preserving Cutty Sark for future generations - and if you time your visit right, you can meet them too.

Shipkeeping in Action lets you get up close as the shipkeepers work on and around the ship.

There is never a typical day's work: wetting down the deck is an essential daily task to keep the deck watertight and not dry out. But any number of jobs could come up during your visit: oiling the brightworks, painting woodwork and ironwork, hull inspections, caulking the hull and decking… the list goes on!

Watch the experts at work, then get a chance to ask your questions about how Cutty Sark is kept in shipshape condition.

This is a drop-in event open to all Cutty Sark ticket holders. Sessions take place on the second Wednesday of every month from 11am-3pm, so if you're visiting then make sure you look out for the team!
