Bromley FC Open Top Bus Celebrations mark their promotion to EFL League 2 following Wembley victory.
Six days after their Wembley victory over Solihull Moors in the National League Promotion Final to gain EFL League 2 status, Bromley FC celebrated with an open-top bus parade from their Hayes Lane stadium to The Glades shopping mall on Saturday afternoon.
Hundreds of fans lined the route, and hundreds gathered in The Glades for the ceremony. This saw MC Matt Hall hand the microphone to the assembled VIPs to address the crowds.
First owner and Chairman Robin Stainton-Gleaves thanked all concerned for the efforts that have brought his dream to fruition. Team Manager Andy Woodman paid tribute to the players and backroom staff. Finally, the Mayor of Bromley, His Worship Mike Botting, thanked the team and the football club for the recognition that promotion to the Football League has brought to the town and the borough.
After the speeches, Maritime Radio reporter Clive Richardson spoke briefly with Bromley FC Chief Operating Officer Jeff Hutton, who said, "Promotion to the EFL makes everything worthwhile. There will be some challenges but we will rise to those, and it will be so exciting to see the club in the Football League. We are re-laying the pitch, but the remainder of the stadium needs no extra work."
Bromley will find out on Wednesday, June 26, who their first opponents will be at the start of their EFL adventure.
