Manchester United drew away last night in Turkey against Turkish giants Fenerbahce in their Europa League clash. This was the third Europa League matchday which involved Manchester United which have all ended in draws against FC Twente, Porto, and Fenerbahce. The club were widely expected to win all three games but have all ended in draws which leave Manchester United mid-table in the new group format of the Europa League. The total number of fixtures due to take place in the group stage is eight and Manchester United must finish within the top eight to progress automatically to the round of 16. If they finish within the top 24 teams then they will take part in a play-off round for a place in the last 16.  Manchester United took the lead in early in the 15th minute through a goal from Danish international Christian Eriksen. However, Fenerbahce scored the equalizer through Morocco international and former Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the 49th minute. Fenerbahce is currently managed by former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho who is also widely regarded as one of the greatest football managers of all time. Mourinho received a red card and was sent off by the referee in the second half which means he will serve a touchline ban for Fenerbahce's next UEFA European club fixture. Manchester United's next fixture is their Premier League fixture away at West Ham United on Sunday at 2PM.
