Premier League fixtures 25th February and 27th February 2025

The Premier League delivered another thrilling round of fixtures across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with plenty of drama at both ends of the table. Liverpool tightened their grip on the title race, while the battle for European qualification intensified.

Tuesday’s Action

Wolves and Fulham kicked off the midweek fixtures with an entertaining clash at Molineux. The visitors secured a vital 21 win, continuing their push towards the top half of the table.

Brighton earned an important 21 victory over Bournemouth in a South Coast derby. The Seagulls dominated possession and were rewarded with a late winner, ensuring they kept pace with the teams vying for European spots.

Crystal Palace produced arguably their most impressive performance of the season, stunning Aston Villa with a dominant 41 win at Selhurst Park. The Eagles were clinical in front of goal, punishing Villa’s defensive lapses.

Chelsea put on a show at Stamford Bridge, sweeping aside Southampton with a resounding 40 win. The Blues showcased their attacking prowess, and the victory keeps their hopes of European qualification alive.

Wednesday’s Action

Liverpool took another significant step towards reclaiming the Premier League title with a 20 home victory over Newcastle United. Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis MacAllister secured the win, extending their lead at the top to 13 points. However, they have played one game more than second-placed Arsenal.

Manchester City kept their Champions League qualification hopes alive with a hard-fought 10 away win against Tottenham Hotspur. A defensive masterclass and a moment of brilliance from Erling Haaland ensured City claimed all three points in North London.

Arsenal were held to a frustrating goalless draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The Gunners struggled to break down a resolute Forest defense, dropping crucial points in their pursuit of Liverpool.

Manchester United edged out Ipswich Town in a thrilling 32 encounter at Old Trafford. A late winner from Bruno Fernandes sealed the victory, keeping United in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

Brentford and Everton played out a 11 draw in a tense battle. Both sides showed resilience, but a share of the points did little to ease Evertons relegation concerns or boost Brentford’s European ambitions.

Thursday’s Sole Fixture

West Ham United wrapped up the midweek action with a confident 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the London Stadium. The Hammers strengthened their survival aspirations, while Leicester’s survival hopes took a further hit.

The Title Race and European Battle

Liverpool’s latest win sees them open up a commanding 13-point lead over Arsenal, although the Gunners have a game in hand. With just 10 matches remaining, Arne Slot's men are in a strong position to lift the trophy, but the race is far from over.

Nottingham Forest remain in third, continuing their remarkable campaign, while Manchester United and Manchester City battle it out for the remaining Champions League spots. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s emphatic victory brings them closer to the European places, while West Ham and Brighton also remain in contention.

At the other end of the table, Everton’s draw and Leicester’s defeat add further intrigue to the relegation battle. The final stretch of the season promises plenty of twists and turns, with much still to be decided.

With another exciting round of fixtures on the horizon, all eyes will be on the Premier League as the title race, European spots, and relegation battle continue to intensify.
